It's finally here, the premiere of La Fe. Two syllables that pack a of hope, inspiration and faith.

Amid the meat of the magazine are our feature articles – profiles of people just like you, living out their faith. Plus you'll find fun and educational columns, sidebars and information boxes. Toss in some riveting photos and cool graphic design for the final touches.

In time, some may eventually refer to the magazine for the Diocese of Laredo as the "caldo de pollo" for this community's Catholic soul. La Fe resonates with familiarity through the different stories shared with its audience – reflecting our distinctive cultural identity.

Add the uniqueness of its bilingual presentation and you truly possess a first class, one-of-a-kind publication that the entire family can enjoy. Whether you read English, Spanish or both, this quarterly magazine is for you because we are one family and one diocese.

Informative and enlightening, La Fe's goal is to further strengthen
the bond with Catholicism for those who already maintain strong ties to the Church and to rekindle the fire for those who have strayed from the Word of our Lord. Just as Jesus Christ shared stories with his flock, so too will La Fe continue in that tradition, which began more than 2,000 years ago.

However, do not misinterpret my words. La Fe is not designed, nor meant, to supplant the teachings of the Bible. Nor is it a replacement for receiving the Sacraments or worshipping in God's home.

Instead, La Fe's mission is to supplement or accompany our Catholic doctrines and to do so in a contemporary fashion _ transcending all demographic groups. I hope you find the magazine visually appealing, intellectually stimulating, spiritually uplifting and heartwarming with its diverse offerings. And everything is steeped in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

I extend my gratitude to everyone for allowing me to participate in such an exciting endeavor as I anticipate the fulfillment this publication will generate for all who read it.

So find your favorite reading nook and go from cover to cover with this premiere issue of La Fe.
